All Day Dreaming
04:21
|
|||
I’m standing here
with a flame in my hand
floating thoughts around me
watching you,tending your fears
flowing thoughts through your ears
all day dreaming,all day long
We stumbled upon that strange looking stone
now gravity fails and we swim
through the currents
of memory and guilt
but all these things ,never happened
so just keep on swimming, keep swimming along
We’re standing here
with fire in our hands, floating thoughts around us
watching them,tending their fears
flowing thoughts through my ears
all day dreaming,all day long

Halo
03:52
|
|||
Yesterday I saw that little girl
she lives alone up on the hill
and watches us as we grow older
but it seems the time for her stands still
I told her "let me ask you something girl,
what’s that thing upon your head?"
and she answered "that’s my new hat sir"
and I said "I see nothing but a flare"
Then she said
“I spend my time down in the basement,
with my mother’s box of tools,
every morning when I wake up I make
myself a brand new set of rules
And I go out walking down the street
I mingle with the silent crowds
leaving footprints on the sidewalk
and painting smiles on their frowns.
And she goes out walking down the streets
she mingles with the silent crowds
leaving footprints on the sidewalk
and painting smiles on their frowns.

Morning Light
03:36
|
|||
Life goes in circles
and my mind is set on you.
the morning light is so pure
for it won't ask no questions.
about the time we lose
for we don't lose no time
cause time is not an issue
no,not anymore.
Do you believe it's true?
or do you feel is a set up?
do you think is a trap?
or maybe just a foolish game?
Or you can try to think,
of your fingers as a compass
your fear as a hope
your eyes as an ocean
Your body as a landscape
that doesn't need a road
Your body is a landscape
that doesn't need a road.

A Strange Kind of Fire
03:06
|
|||
Sitting on the couch I’m only waiting
for those little purifying sparks of truth.
The door is open, outside some trees are burning
but it’s not the kind of fire that keeps you warm.
And I ‘ll see you in a while,
and we’ll meet our friends again.
Yeah I'll see you in a while
and we’ll meet our friends again.
Staring at the wall the shadows playing
with my tangled thoughts and my sick breath.
Children’s laughter swirling in my ears now,
I thought you said there’s no one else down here.
But I’ll see you in a while
and we’ll meet our friends again.
Yeah I'll see you in a while
and we’ll meet our friends again.
Sitting on the couch I’m only waiting
for those little purifying sparks of truth.
The door is open, outside some trees are burning
but it’s not the kind of fire that keeps you warm.

Burning Temple
03:53
|
|||
I see you standing there, trying so hard to mend your broken shell
staring into nowhere
Beyond the walls, beyond the high black towers
beyond the mocking mirrors of this city
Beyond the line of trees, beyond the mountains of sorrow
beyond the days to come, beyond the days long gone
Sometimes you stretch your hands toward the sky and pray
and then you stop, you bow your head and you close your eyes
And I know,we're gonna meet again,
yeah I know,we're gonna meet again.
So I sing and set my house on fire,
I sing and I burn my dreams away
yeah I sing and I set my house on fire
and I burn a thousand tears away
as I sing I set my mind on fire
and I burn,a thousand fears away.
yeah as I sing I set this house on fire
and I burn a thousand fears away
Sometimes you stretch your hands toward the sky and pray
and then you stop, you bow your head and you close your eyes so tight
I see you standing there, trying so hard to mend your broken shell
staring into nowhere, staring into nowhere
Beyond the walls, beyond the high black towers
beyond the mocking mirrors of this city
Beyond the line of trees, beyond the mountains of sorrow
beyond the days to come, beyond the days long gone.

1000 Miles Away
03:53
|
|||
I knew that I'd be back someday
I got a shiver down my spine
I knew I couldn’t stay
I saw the open highway
I saw it in my dreams man
I had to find my way
Cause' it feels so strange now
a thousand miles away
and it feels so strange now,
like I'm a million miles away
I got up a little late today
I took a look around and sighed
and then I raised the shades
the street outside was crowded
on every face I saw loneliness
all dressed in black and grey
And it feels so strange now
a thousand miles away
yeah it feels so strange now,
like I'm a million miles away
I put a few things in my suitcase
I jumped into my shoes
and I grabbed my leather coat
I slammed the door behind me
I got into my ford
I turned the key and smiled
And it feels so good now
I’m gonna drive away
and it feels so good now
I guess I’ve found my way, my way back home.

Sunday Night
04:47
|
|||
There's a room in my house
with the door always closed
I never go in there and I don't really know why
sometimes I press my ear against the door
and I hear people whispering
sometimes I press my ear against the wall
and I hear people shouting
and I hear myself laughing
and I hear myself crying
I gotta bring down that door
I gotta burn down the walls around it
There's a hole in the street
just outside my house
I pretend I don't see it
every morning I step out my door
and I never dare to kneel and take a look inside
but I sometimes hear voices
echo in the depths beneath
and I hear myself laughing
and I hear myself crying
I gotta fill that hole
I gotta bring down the walls around it
I gotta bring down that door
I gotta burn down the walls around it

Time Goes By
04:00
|
|||
When a part of you is lost
and you wake up to find yourself sleeping
what’s your first thought
will you just keep on sinking?
Then a part of you feels dead
and you don’t remember the last time
you looked straight ahead
and you saw that there’s no line
between the sea
and the sky
and the time
that so fast goes by
and your dreams
that slowly fade
in that thick
but sweet and warm haze
When the mother calls
you try to reply but there’s no voice
comin’ out of your mouth
is there left any choice?
For you
and me
just to see
all the things we’ve passed by
and for once
let’s try to be,
a little more true
a little more free
a little more you
a little more me

Nightly Shiver
04:27
|
|||
As the day retreats exhausted by the summer heat
and the nightly shiver works its way through
see the moon rising like a silver bow
and the sun's now hiding behind your smile
Am I dreaming or is it all for real
it feels like going home again
am I dreaming or is it all for real
feels like flying up high above with you
Now the spine of heavens above us like a river of light
the city moan becomes a thousand bluebirds song
the moon is burning red now and rolls along the mountain ridge
the distant velvet clouds within our reach
Am I dreaming or is it all for real
it feels like going home again
am I dreaming or is it all for real
feels like flying up high above with you

Sea
02:47
|
|||
All the tunes,faded out
and I see you in the distance
now I drift away again
and I find no place to stand
Always going round
Once you said "you're all I've got
draw the line and I will cross it
Stare right through those fiery eyes
burn your dreams and let them go now"
Always going round
All the tunes,faded out
and I see you in the distance
now I drift away again
and I find no place to stand
there's no sea,so wide and deep
like the one you threw me into
Always going round.

Tomorrow's Tears
04:08
|
|||
I was driving down to that gloomy bar
where my old friend Joe spends almost every night and says
"Drink up, if you wanna save your souls brothers
this blessed juice flows right out of heaven boys
but beware it sometimes raises hell"
I was almost there when a bunch of people got in my way
dressed in white rags and with crazy eyes and said
"Step out brother, you must help us out on this"
there was a huge pile of stones on the sidewalk
they were building a wall in the middle of the street
I was terrified and asked them why they were doing such a thing
and all with one voice sung "can't you see, we're building a wall"
"We build a wall for tomorrow's tears"
So I never got to that gloomy bar where my old friend drinks
no I never made it to that gloomy bar where my friend Joe drinks
And we all sing now "We build a wall for tomorrow's tears".

The Cat's Cradle
04:02
|
|||
The old man sitting on the bench next to me
under the tangerine tree
a string in his hands becomes slowly the cat's cradle
His gaze beyond the pavement and the asphalt
and the concrete
way beyond, deep in the city's bowels
that move and dribble and rattle
A lady dressed in black walks toward us now
with a bunch of cats behind her
she turns to me and with two burning eyes says
"fear the giant hook boy"
I have no words,my tongue is dry
and my thoughts are a little hazy
her walking stick taps rhythmically on the soiled tiles
Now it's getting cold
and the wind gets stronger
and the brown leaves
dancing madly
a distant roar
and the sky gets darker
and the first drops
they paint the ground red
The old man sitting on the bench next to me
under the tangerine tree
a string in his hands becomes slowly the cat's cradle
out of blue a friend arrived
a hearty handshake and a smile
they took the road to the coffee shop
and the world is safe now.
